What is H.A.L.T.S?
H.A.L.T.S is Therachat's version of the popular H.A.L.T activity that allows clients to take a moment to check on their 5 basic needs. Are they hungry, angry, lonely, tired, or stressed? Your clients can rate all of these needs in the Morning, Afternoon, and Night. This is a great tool to allow your clients to adopt self-awareness and prevent relapse prevention.
How do I assign the H.A.L.T.S. activity to my client?
You can assign the H.A.L.T.S activity to your client by:
1) Access your client from your dashboard or by selecting the "Clients" tab. Find your client and select "Manage".
2) Click the "Assign Activity" button or the "Actions" drop-down menu and select "Assign Activities"
Please note, this will not work if it has already been assigned previously.
How does the rating work?
H.A.L.T.S has a 1-5 rating system.
1 = Little
2 = Mild
3 = Feeling It
4 = Very
5 = Extreme
So if your client put 5 for hunger - that would mean they were extremely hungry at that point in their day.
How do I view their results?
You can view your client's H.A.L.T.S entries by going to your dashboard and selecting "Clients". Find the client you are looking for and click "Manage" and select H.A.L.T.S from their activity menu and you will be able to see their ratings.
You can also see notes the client has left at that time (indicated by a red dot on the chart). See below:
You can filter these results by clicking on the number you're looking and it will bold all other numbers of the same denomination. This allows for an easier visual of any patterns or trends in your client's needs.
