What is H.A.L.T.S?
H.A.L.T.S is Therachat's version of the popular H.A.L.T activity that allows you to take a moment to check only your 5 basic needs. Are you hungry, angry, lonely, tired, or stressed? You can rate all of these needs in the Morning, Afternoon, and Night. This is a great tool to allow you to adopt self-awareness and assist with self-soothing/relapse prevention.
How do I use H.A.L.T.S?
Your Therapist must assign you the activity in order to use H.A.L.T.S. Your Therapist will know best if this is a good tool for your particular circumstances.
Once it has been assigned to you - you can simply click the activity hamburger menu (see image below) from your mobile dashboard and select "H.A.L.T.S".
Once you have opened the activity you can input your ratings. Don't forget to save your input!
How does the rating work?
H.A.L.T.S has a 1-5 rating system.
1 = Little
2 = Mild
3 = Feeling It
4 = Very
5 = Extreme
So if you put 5 for hunger - that would mean you were extremely hungry at that point in the day.
